North Island College (NIC) is a comprehensive community college serving more than 9,000 students annually at our four campuses, our learning centre, and through online and in-community learning. NIC offers industry-approved skills training, nationally recognized credentials, networking opportunities, applied skills and knowledge to advance students’ careers.

NIC has several accredited programs that include co-operative education alternating semesters of full time classroom studies with paid, full-time work. In addition to co-op, NIC offers other forms of work-integrated learning and several programs have a flexible but mandatory internship requirement that allows students to gain valuable, industry experience while completing their post degree diploma.

If you are interested in hiring a co-op student or providing internship opportunities, please visit the SES page for instructions of posting a job or connecting with students from NIC.

NIC has also partnered with Vancouver Island University (VIU) to create a regional hub for enhancing work-integrated learning and connecting students on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat with local opportunities. Please visit the VIWIL website to post a student job on the VIWIL portal or to access additional resources and support to help connect you with NIC and VIU student talent.
