Salvatore De Simone is an R&D engineer at Powell Canada, where he develops software and designs electronic devices that monitor ambient variables such as dust, temperature and humidity in industrial switchgear. Salvatore is a Langara student, who will be attending his graduation ceremony from the Computer Studies (co-op option) program in June 2020. He will complete a citation in Full-Stack Web Development in early April 2020. Salvatore has delivered much more than expected at Powell Industries, and for this reason, he was offered to renew his contract three times. His determination in both working and studying always paid off with awards such as achieving the Dean’s honor roll twice consecutively. Salvatore is very sociable and he loves spending time with friends and family. He also loves playing drums and doing outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.
Salvatore is a Diploma student who excelled in a co-op that was outside his program area, within a very challenging profession, in a position generally filled by Masters level students. Salvatore has a cumulative of GPA 3.59 and has always been a full time student. Salvatore has given his time to speak with other students and has helped recruit them into the Co-op program.
