Heather WorkmanACE-WIL BC/Yukon is pleased to announce Heather Workman of Langara College as the recipient of the 2019 Outstanding Contribution Award. Heather is a tireless advocate for co-operative education and work integrated learning locally, provincially and nationally, and has been in the field of Work Integrated Learning at Langara College for the last 20 years, serving as department chair for the co-op and career centre since 2014. She was the President of ACE-WIL BC/Yukon from 2017-2019 and in that time coordinated strategic partnerships, implemented new initiatives, and saw our association grown in membership.

On the ACE-WIL BC/Yukon board, Heather has not only served as the president, but she also has been an instrumental member of the external relations committee, of which she now co-chairs. She has guided partnerships with Innovate BC and the BC Chamber of Commerce, among others. Heather always has her finger on the pulse of what’s happening in our province, and is always thinking of ideas to positively impact our association and our members. Heather frequently serves as chair of ACE-WIL conference social committees, where her vibrant personality and skill at ensuring people are having fun is always a welcome addition.

Heather’s impressive leadership and dedication goes beyond just her commitment to ACE-WIL, Heather completed her MBA from UNBC in 2015, and has been a tireless volunteer with Mentors for the Leaders of Tomorrow program with the Vancouver Board of Trade since 2012.

Heather is a critical member who’s had a very positive impact in the ACE-WIL community, and her ongoing dedication and commitment to the association exemplify why is so deserving of the 2019 Outstanding Contribution Award. Congratulations Heather.
