Students in the Medical Office Assistant program apply the skills and knowledge they have acquired in the classroom during a 40-hour practicum placement in a medical office. Students in the Medical Office Assistant program are preparing for a dynamic and vital role within a medical office team. They learn to perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure offices and clinics run smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

As we build our Work-Integrated Learning opportunities across all six campuses of the College of New Caledonia we are interested in working with employers like you to offer students experiential learning opportunities related to the core competencies of the Medical Office Assistant Associate Certificate. The work term enhances student learning and you have an important mentorship role to play. The college offers an employer orientation and ongoing support during the work term. Many students are available for work experience, internships or for hire at the end of a semester following final exams. Many of our programs end in the spring.
