Do you need qualified technicians in a Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Department? The 400-hour instructor led practicum provides students with an opportunity to apply the skills, knowledge and experience in the decontamination, preparation and packing, sterilization, and storage and distribution areas of hospital Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Departments. Learners are partnered with working technicians and are provided with the opportunity to practice skills and develop basic competencies in all areas. Student learning is supported through daily post-clinical conferences, journaling, and learning activities to facilitate integration of knowledge and skills.
As we build our Work-Integrated Learning opportunities across all six campuses of the College of New Caledonia we are interested in working with employers like you to offer students experiential learning opportunities related to the core competencies of the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Associate Certificate. The work term enhances student learning and you have an important mentorship role to play. The college offers an employer orientation and ongoing support during the work term. Many students are available for work experience, internships or for hire at the end of a semester following final exams. Many of our programs end in the spring.
